welcome to pop electronique, courtesy of ninca leece. having, in recent years, played clubs and festivals all over the world, writing soundtracks or collaborating with fellow musicians, the french vocalist, who now lives in berlin, has finally got around to completing her debut solo album, which she has been working on whenever she found a free moment.

its been nearly four years since gridloks debut album break the system solidified his dynamic sound into the vanguards of drum and bass.

one of the most in demand tracks from the >technique< album finally gets a full single release complete with re-fixes from prosumer and kruse & nuernberg. ernestos vocal fully lends itself to the prosumer soundsignature, his mix floats and weaves around ernestos vocal, peaking around his own chords before stripping things back to bare essentials and rebuilding like only he can. the kruse& nuernberg mix is hypnotic, percussive old school house music at its best. they take a small snippet of the vocal and build the groove relentlessly until the whole room is shaking. achim brandenburg aka prosumer lives in berlin where he is resident at panorama bar, weaving together the finest blend of soulful house sounds. an expert in classic chicago house and detroit techno, his first release was in 2004 on 240 volts, followed by playhouse and ostgut, where he released his debut album with murat tepeli in 2008. separately, hamburg based florian kruse & nils nûrnberg have created some of the most interesting deep house around in the past few years, with early highlights incl nils >caught a glimpse< on 8bit, and florians >love hurts< release on om records. since then, as solo producers, but more importantly together as kruse & nûrnberg they have climbed closer to the tree-top with their unique brand of mouth-watering underground house.

this time its >the greasy beat<, the famed cvs / bootsy collins collaboration. continuing with the theme of claudes favorite producers - robag wruhme steps in for his first appearance on dirtybird. we are honored to have him on this release as he has heavily influenced both claude and justin martin over the years.
the other side features the young j. phlip, delivering her mad breaks/house version that always raises the roof at dirtybird events.
also, a super cool appearance by dop who made their debut on mothership last year as guests on the catz n dogz album. we are very happy to have them back for this special record.

pattern repeat is a new music-project and label by kenneth christiansen, echocord & echocord colour label boss, and his partner dennis bøg aka resoe, running the baum label. the pattern repeat label will only containsproductions from kenneth & dennis, and the music is focused on the modern berlin techno sound today, dubstep and dub-techno. pattern repeat will also release records on other labels, so far the first one is out on echocordcolour. kenneth and dennis met eachother 8 years ago when they worked together in at that time famous copenhagen-record-shop >loud<, which closed 5 years ago. at that time dennis was more into broken beat, hip-hop anddeep house. kenneth was already running the label echocord, and soon dennis started his label baum. the label baum is also like echocord, releasing dub-techno, and dennis started to release his own material as resoe, andbuilded up his studio the years after.1 year ago we decided to try to do a new project together, working together in the studio, and now pattern repeat is born.

it was only a matter of time. two genre-defining artists together ... pop music and dance musics most famous arbiters of taste, collaborating at last. dj hells >u can dance< is an interpretation of an unreleased bryan ferry song, but its one that reflects a perfect melding of two distinct personalities, a record that sounds as if the voice and music were made for each other.
hell, of course, has been riding high on the success of >teufelswerk<, his masterpiece of a double album, a journey replete with fruitful experiments and club bombs. one that has yielded both massive hits and not a tiny bit of controversy along the way. ferry, meanwhile, has been as busy as ever—recording a new album, performing in places as far afield as siberia, opening up the cannes film festival ... basically just being bryan ferry.
and now here they are together ... it all started in 2006 when hell dropped in to meet ferry at his west london studio. at first they discussed hell remixing an old roxy music track, and then it turned into something else - something new (u can dance).
they had similar impressions of one another — hell: >i was impressed by his aura and his look.<, ferry: >he impressed us with his sophistication and charm.< fast forward a few years later, and hell is hard at work on teufelswerk and putting the finishing touches on the aforementioned song titled >u can dance<, a serpentine moroder-esque disco burner. with the help of old friend peter kruder, of kruder and dorfmeister fame, hell fashioned the song into a smoldering nine-minute highlight of the double disc set, in which ferry turns in a typically assured vocal performance.
ferry may seem like an unexpected fan of dance, but hes been going to clubs since he was a teenager, and in his lengthy career hes worked with legends such as nile rodgers of chic and david williams from michael jacksons band. >its always a pleasure to work with people from that genre, who follow a singular groove.<

ilya santana originates from the canary islands (spain). he started to discover his passion for music 20 years ago, while his father was listening to alan parson, vangelis and giorgio moroder amongst others. 15 years ago he started dj ing around all the clubs in gran canaria. not long after that he started producing his own stuff. his first release was on balihu, daniel wang s label. in the meantime he also released records on tirk, permanent vacation and gomma, and remixed artists like human league, the phenomenal handclap band, lindstrom... now we are proud to announce ilya s first release on eskimo, burning jupiter. it s the predecessor to his artist album coming up later in 2010 and showcases perfectly exactly why we wanted him so much to join the eskimo family

right on the heels of aux-records enthusiastically received 1st release featuring very contemporary revisits of the 1950s classic >fever< by franco cinelli and club rayo, this 2nd chapter of the aux-rec project travels to different eras, into different styles. and this is precisely what we had set to do: zig-zag through dance music history in search of personal favorites and classics to be revisited or refreshed. for the present release, we travel to two distinct dates: 1989 for the a-side, and 1979 for the b-side. two tracks that are 10 years apart, but that both share a fiercely upbeat and affirmative musical profile, as well as a certain ageless, core, compositional quality.

with five beat pharmacy albums and almost a dozen vinyl releases on francois ks deep space imprint, this dubby and eclectic project of brendon moeller needs no introduction.
chugging along at 120bpm, underpinned by a thick sub-dub bassline and a modulating maurizio-style synth cord arpeggio, pump is a hypnotic slap of deep smoky house with some memorable hooks to boot. swirling rhodes keyboards and a slick piano riff serve as a lovely counterpoint to the swinging funk of the hi-hat groove. forever morphing and evolving, the stready and unrelenting groove are guaranteed to keep heads bobbing and toes tapping!
the first remix here is by echospace head honcho, stephen hitchell under his intrusion guise. stripping away and re-contextualizing the key elements in the track, hitchell crafts a warehouse-style dj-tool that subtlely weaves its way into ones subconscious via a delightful psychedelic keyboard hook.
londons bearweasel takes a similar approach, except with a much more pronounced beat track superbly trippy atmosphere. a top notch dj tool thats likely to be spun worldwide.

after a break of 3 years, fear of flying resurrect their limited label to give an airing to a track that has been getting some serious attention at londons uber club fabric, having been a staple in the sets of supa resident craig richards for some months now. tiger tiger is all about the tension as the 3 minute intro builds and builds with the an arpeggiated synth, deep bass and a spanish female vocal hook before dropping, no doubt, to dance floor pandemonium as the kick is introduced. its anthemic qualities are brought to the fore later on with a string breakdown and more lashings of the ultra catchy spanish female vocal. ekkohaus provides two excellent mixes on the flip – the main remix shimmers along in fine dance floor fashion. super slick percussion and snippets of the main vocal keep pushing the tracks along, occasionally dropping into the full vocal hook to get hands in the air and smiles on faces.

traversable wormhole has become one of the hottest mystery artist projects/series in the techno scene in 2009. crossing the spectrum from deep techno to hard techno, tw has even found its way into the dubstep scene. traversable wormhole has been played from a huge array of djs from many scenes. reports through the wormhole have heard tracks from tw played by world famous djs such as chris liebing, ben klock, marcel dettmann, mathew herbert, andrew galluzi, surgeon, function, frankie bones, luke slater, surgeon, dj deep and a whole lot more... tw has many years experience in performing both as a live act and or djing with turntables under his his/she/there well known projects names. will tw reveal their identity on the upcoming worldwide tour that question remains unknown.

the title track, lost in shibuya, is perhaps our favorite track from the album. its a very evocative track, a 7 minute journey that revolves around a killer bassline, that captures the trancey techno vibe that made some of the most glorious moments of nineties techno. on the flip side, we asked one of our favorite producers to deliver a remix. his name is quarion and as part of drumpoet community, he is responsible for some of the best deep house sounds of the past years, and is one of the leaders of the neo deep house movement. quarion blessed us with a tribute to mood ii swing that is his dub infected killer usuki shinrin mix.

the 2nd release of french producer anthony collins on mule electronic. anthony collins have released from get physical, freak n chic, bangbang!, curle and name a few. his biggest track >reeves< was included to the compilation of 10 years anniversary of circoloco@dc10. after the successful of last 12inch >upright bass< inc great foog remix, he came back with two modern deep house stuff. a side, >away from home< is early 90s house sound. its associated with the updated nuyorican soul sound or recent dj sprinkles release. if you like the recent underground us house like underground quality or that kind of release,you will like this song even if its more modern taste than them. bside, >hanging on< is jazzy, tribal minimal house sound. its a modern dj tool.
